No Gambling Allowed: Watch Bluebonnet Feeds in Action when these 2 Cow Horse Stars Head Down the Fence in Vegas

August 19, 2021 - Ardmore, OK - When it comes to your horse’s well-being, choosing products that match their nutritional needs shouldn’t feel like gambling. Bluebonnet Feeds is proud to support Pro Riders Kelby Phillips & Erin Taormino, as they head down the fence at the first invitational cow horse event in Vegas on Friday August 20th. Competing with the top fifteen NRCHA Open Riders, based on a three year average, Erin and Kelby are set to shine on a national stage at one of the most extraordinary equestrian events.

Kelby Phillips, the latest addition to the Bluebonnet Feeds Pro Rider team, has selected a horse with whom he has a long-time partnership, and helped him earn the titles of 2016 Open Snaffle Bit Futurity Champion and 2020 World's Greatest Horseman Reserve Champion. Duals Luck Charm has over $270,000 in earnings but, to Kelby is more than his successes.

“I consider him family,” said Phillips, “I wouldn’t trade him for anything.” While preparing for Vegas, he added, “we’ve been in some really tough shows, and I know I can call on him when I need to.”

Erin Taormino also chose to place her bets on a horse with whom she has a long relationship, and has proven to have her back when it matters most. Erin trained Im So Stunning from the start and is already on a roll this year, earning a win at the 2021 NRCHA Stallion Stakes Open Two Rein Spectacular. Erin’s passion for the sport and her horses shines through in every run. “When I’m riding horses,” says Taormino, “I feel like I’m exactly where I need to be.”

Bluebonnet Feeds Pro Riders Abby Lengel and Trevor Dare will also be competing Friday, in the reining Open Shootout. Trevor Dare will be sure to deliver a performance aboard “Hercules” (Jerseys Baby Driver), who carried him to this year's NRHA Derby Championship, and in the form of pure mare-power on his second ride: “Smart As Hail”. Abby Lengel will also trust in a mare proven to lead the pack. Makendiamonds has over $78,000 in earnings. This year alone, "Josie" and Lengel topped the Derby at the Tulsa Ride and Slide, and made the NRHA Level 4 Open Derby Finals.

Bluebonnet Feeds is honored to support incredible horse and human athletes, with innovative equine nutrition that works as hard as they do. Best of luck and safe rides to all competitors!
