Worth every penny, wish I’d bought it sooner

Posted by Alex Pursley on Sep 15th 2023

I wish I had bought this sooner, this was a total game changer for my hard keeper aging gelding. At almost 20 years old, he is very hard to keep weight/muscle on, always very lean and super prominent top line atrophy. I finally bought this and fed it out over 80 days, changing nothing else about his diet or exercise. He has put on so much weight and muscle, he’s more filled out than I’ve seen in YEARS. He’s almost 20, ridden mostly for peewee/kids lessons, and he honestly hasn’t looked this good since he was 8 and being ridden 6 days a week. I am fully sold on Competitive Edge!

30 days in and I'm very happy I was referred to this product to build my appendix Qh's topline. He can be a picky eater, but has gobbled this up from the beginning! I have already gotten compliments on how he is filling in and his coat condition improving. I feed this along with quality hay and a ration balancer.

Noticeable Difference on Day 5 for my PSSM2 horse

Posted by Roxy on Jun 9th 2023

I have a quarter horse suspected of having PSSM2. Rather than pull her from work for a muscle biopsy, we started her on this supplement and Fish Oil Factor. No other changes were made and on the 5th day I noticed huge changes in her! Her willingness to perform was the biggest change, but, objectively, I also believe I saw a reduction in her Topline muscle stiffness. She warmed up easier and was willing and responsive to my aids. This is a young (5yr old) horse learning Intro level skills for Western Dressage. Suppleness has been our number one hurdle to teach and overcome. She always recoiled from stretching and would display very mild shifting discomfort/lameness over her Topline. All of those symptoms have been dramatically reduced. This is an anecdotal case, of course, but I really think this product is what helped tip us onto the right path for my mare.

Game Changer for my PSSM 2 Horse!

Posted by Kim on May 23rd 2023

I suspect my mare has PSSM 2 and have struggled keeping her body from falling apart during conditioning and performance (barrel racing) as she's gotten older. I listened to the muscle disorder podcast on Feed Room Chemist where Dr Nichols suggested this feed for PSSM 2. I am overwhelmingly impressed by the results! Her body condition is the best I've seen in awhile and she's so happy! No more muscle atrophy or tightness. Highly recommend!!!

With proper exercise, this will pack on the muscle. Also has helped my mare work out longer, stronger, and recovers faster.

    Bluebonnet competitive edge

Posted by Cara Seltrecht on Dec 26th 2017

This is my second review of Bluebonnet Competitive Edge... It's extremely well-received by my picky OTTB mare, who I initially purchased it for... She has trouble holding her topline, and is a harder keeper than we're used to... And NOW... we've just added our second OTTB, straight off the track 3 weeks ago, into negative double digits cold, and I've placed her on it straight away to prevent losing her topline. Picky eater approved, I even think it smells good! (And believe me, there are lots of supplements out there that don't smell good at all!) I'm very glad to have found this product, my first girl is holding strong, and my new one is gobbling it up, so that come spring, we can get busy with work straight away. Thank you Stride!!! Very satisfied with Competitive Edge!

Picky eater approved!!! I'm using this for my OTTB who has hollows behind her shoulders... We're headed into winter here in Montana and I want something to help her keep her muscling that she does have, while not working as much as we do in the nicer weather. I'm very pleased with the pelleted formula (she eats every speck), and the customer support when I had questions. I'll be delighted if she comes through winter looking well, and ready for spring work!
